… The 50th Day of the Martyrdom of Major Muhammad Akram Shahid Nishan Haider, a great story of courage and frivolity in the 1971 war that the nation is still proud of. During the war, Major Akram Shahid displayed great frivolity on the East Pakistani front and confused the enemy’s main air, artillery and armored strikes. Major Akram, along with the dogs, bravely fought with an enemy several times greater than him for 15 days. Meanwhile, on December 5, 1971, Commander Akram was tortured by repelling enemy attacks on the main axis of the Pakistani army.
For telling a new story of frivolity and courage, Major Akram Shahid received the highest honor from Nishan Haider’s Pakistani army. Major Akram Shahid graduated from Jelum Military College and enrolled in the 28th PMA Continuous Course in March 1961. He passed out in October 1963 and was enlisted in a frontier regiment.
He was also awarded the title of “Best Sniper” in his course. Major Muhammad Akram joined the infantry battalion on October 13, 1963. Due to his excellent reputation, he was promoted to the rank of major after completing a military intelligence course in September 1970.
